Not if Lundqvist can't start to show he can step his game up in the playoffs, which he never has.

Mike Richter really stepped it up in the '94 playoffs. 16 wins, 4 shutouts, lowered his GAA by half a goal, and who can forget the penalty shot stop on Pavel Bure? That's the effort the Rangers need from the guy they call "the king".

Folks in NC are still confused after the Whalers relocated and brought a strange planter into bars:

Any hockey team named after a Burger King fish sandwich* is doomed from the start.

*For all you fact checkers, and you know who you are, I realize the Whalers actually started in 72 in the WHA and The Whaler sandwhich didn't come out until 75, but I felt it is still relevant as the Whalers didn't join the NHL until 1979.

A little WHA trivia: When the WHA signed Derek Sanderson away from the Bruins in 1972, his contract was worth $2.6 million, making him the highest paid profession athlete in the world, even more than Pele.

Alan Hangsleben, who played on those WHA Whalers lives directly across the street from my aunt here in Maryland. He is a high rise roofing contractor now.
